We exist in this earthly system with the same materials that have been here for eons and will be here for eons to come.
We have a choice of what to do with it; how to transform it.
Where did our clothes come from? And what will become of them when we are done with them?
The Story
Hi, my name is Daphne Matter. This brand is composed of my original designs, which are all upcycled from materials that needed a new life.
I source, thrift, and accept donations of would-be waste in the form of blankets, beach towels, sweaters, etc, and transform it into the one-of-a-kind pieces you see here. Since I avoid using raw materials, there are no duplicates or reproductions. If you buy one of my pieces (thank you!) you will be the only one in the world who has it.
All our clothes come from somewhere, from something. Its our job to recognize the material history and consequences.
